2009 World Show Overview

Please join us for the World Organization of China Painters 17th Biennial Convention and Show, "Perspectives in Porcelain."   There are wonderful opportunities ahead to learn and grow in our art as well as spend time with your painting family.
Omaha is a lovely city with a tasteful blend of old and new, both in History and the Arts.   There is a world-class Art Museum, zoo, botanical gardens, Old Market for unique shopping, and an extremely active Artist Community.
Omaha's location in the center of the country makes travel arrangements easy for people from both coasts of the United States, also allowing our members from outside the United States, a chance to sample Midwestern hospitality.   The hotel provides complimentary shuttle service from Omaha's Eppley Airfield to the Convention facility.

Auction Benefit

WOCP is aligning itself with the fight against Breast Cancer.   So many of us have been touched by this dread disease, either personally or through someone we know and love.   Please remember that a portion of the proceeds raised at the WOCP Auction Benefit is going to help the Alegent Health Image Recovery Center.

The Alegent Health Image Recovery Center helps cancer patients cope with and overcome some of the physical side-effects of cancer treatment.  The program is rooted in medical science.  Clinical cosmetologists, certified breast fitters, and massage therapists have been trained to provide services especially for cancer patients.  They can be a comforting voice of experience at a very vulnerable time.  When cancer patients look better, they start to feel better.

This initiative can help WOCP in several ways:

  • Allow us to give back to the community in a meaningful way.
  • Educate the community about what we do as Porcelain Artists.
  • Promote community support and attendance, bringing:
Better prices for the auction pieces, therefore
More money for Breast Cancer Research

Please consider supporting this worthy cause by doing any or all of the following: attending the auction, painting a piece and bidding generously.

CLICK HERE to see a list of those who have already generously offered to paint a piece for the Auction Benefit and to see some of the beautiful items already received!

Display Reception
The Display Reception will feature our State and International displays and will be open to the public and the press. Auction and raffle pieces will also be on display at this event. Pre-bids for Auction pieces will be accepted and Raffle tickets will be available for purchase.

WOCP World Show Boutique
The WOCP World Show Boutique will contain various unique craft items for sale.   All proceeds from the Boutique go to support our WOCP Museum.   The South Dakota Clubs will be managing the Boutique and request anyone interested in donating items to please contact MaryAnn Clarin (sdartist01@msn.com) for additional information.
